Made of Earth

Where tree debris becomes fine art — one old soul at a time.

Every tree we work on leaves something behind. Bark pulled from a storm-damaged oak. Roots lifted from a tree that had been standing since before the neighborhood existed. Shelf fungus, lichen, agate, vine, seed pod, and wood that still holds the grain of every year it lived. Most people see debris. We see material.

Made of Earth is where that material becomes something else entirely.

Each piece is a wall sculpture built from what the land provides — bark, root, moss, lichen, bracket fungus, agate, pampas grass, seed heads, copper, animal fiber, and found materials collected and curated over years of working closely with trees. Every sculpture is one of a kind because every tree is one of a kind. We don't replicate them. We don't mass produce them. When a piece is gone, it's gone.

The collection is released in a limited annual series — a small number of pieces, each named, each with its own origin story. Where the tree stood. What took it down. What we saw when everyone else had moved on.

Arbor — the piece that started it all — was exhibited at ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, one of the largest art competitions in the world. He is not for sale. He is the reason the collection exists.

These are not crafts. They are not décor. They are old souls — made of earth, built by hand, and meant to last as long as the trees they came from.
